What a great hockey tournament.
Sure I'm disappointed that the US didn't strike gold in hockey, but the games were awesome!
If you're an American, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the silver medal. It's an awesome accomplishment and everyone should be proud of all the atheletes, whether they medal or not.
The Canadian's Hockey teams deserved the Gold medals, they played with the fire and enthusiasm everyone had been waiting for the whole tournament.
So Mr. Gretzky doesn't have to worry about everyone rooting for the men's team to lose, because it just wasn't so. Most of the Canadian players play in American cities so if you're a Ranger, Avalanche, Duck, Devil, Blues, Redwings, etc. fan, you're thrilled because you have Gold, Silver and/or Bronze medal winners playing for your team.
Joe Sakic grabs 4 points and gets tournament MVP honors. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Joe Sakic is an enormous positive influence for the Colorado community, as well as the hockey community. No one player on any team in this city is as gracious, honorable, and as respected as Joe is here in Colorado.
So am I bitter about the US loss to Canada? Heck no!
Congrats to our neighbors to the north!
