the two wheel terror

Today was a good day!

First off, we went to pick up Dimitri. We then shuffled down to The Soccer Shop to pick up his uniform for his league. He's got 2 shirts (one red, one white), 1 pair of shorts, and 1 pair of socks. Now all he needs is for the snow to melt and the fields to dry so the league will not have to cancel anymore games.

So with gear in hand, we drove back home.

[sidenote] I sat back and had to watch the Detroit Redwings beat the Avs. [end sidenote]

But that's ok, win some, lose some, as long as the Avs are still playing in June I'll be happy. It gave us a chance to get outside and enjoy another beautiful Colorado day.

We started out playing a little hockey, just shooting around in the driveway. I went into the patio and saw Dimitri's bicycle sitting there, flat tires, chain rusted. I told him, "How about we fix your bike and you learn to ride it?" (he doesn't know how to ride without training wheels yet). He said, "Sure". So we pumped up the tires and oiled the chain, then headed out to a nearby, flat, parking lot to try our luck.

With Ginger on one end and me about 10 yards away, we took turns pushing the little guy back and forth until he was doing it on his own.

It didn't take long, he got going his 4th or 5th try. He didn't stop riding until the sun went down, and he plans on riding again tomorrow morning as soon as he gets some breakfast in him.

[another sidenote]Which reminds me, he owes me for a bet we made. The other day he said I couldn't kick the soccer ball over this wire and I did it. He has to make me some scrambled eggs for breakfast tomorrow. I have to remember that before I let him go ride. Mwahahahha! The great thing about kids is....the cheap labor. Juuuuust kidding! [end sidenote]

That was pretty much our day. What made it a great day was being able to take part in someone else having a great day, namely Dimitri.

But isn't that the way it's supposed to be?
