I was going to write about something today but decided against it. It was something in my past that I regret. But I'm not going to do it. I'll just say that there's some things in life that happen that you should be able to put behind you, but even if you do, the world around you won't let you. Things like that suck.
Yesterday, Dimitri had soccer practice. He did great, the coach actually practiced them, which relived me. The team has a lot of talent and Dimitri is learning quickly, he's already showing a lot more grit than he did in his previous club. The kids are coming together as a team and it's good to see. The end of his last tour with his last club, a lot of kids picked on him because he's small, and the coach would never tell them anything. It's no wonder that they didn't win but one game. Dimitri didn't trust any of them, that's when, as a father, I get pissed off.
But this club is different so far. I'm so happy and relieved I couldn't possibly put it into words. It's not about winning and losing, it's about learning and teamwork. Dimitri found a team in which he belongs, and I'm thankful.
Spring cleaning is upon us. I get to fire up the chainsaw today. "Roh Roh Roh" - Tim Allen.
If I happen to lope off my leg or something I may take a sabbatical, so if you don't hear from me, you'll know that's what happened. But hey, at least my knee won't hurt anymore right?
